Andrew J. Tomal

Andrew J. Tomal, 91, joined his wife Myrtle (Jean) in heaven on Sunday, March 21, 2021 at the James G. Johnston United Methodist Home in Johnson City. Andy was born in Kulpmont, PA on May 12, 1929 son of the late Andrew and Helen Tomal. Andy is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Don Mueller. Andy enlisted in the United States Army in 1953 and was honorably discharged in 1955. He was a member of Greene Fire Department until 1965 when he was made honorary member. After retiring from New York State Electric and Gas he and Jean found themselves seeing parts of the United States in their beloved bus tours. Andy and Jean were great dancers and really enjoyed their times at Country Music Park in Cortland. They made many friends and lasting memories. The family thanks the wonderful staff at James G. Johnston for their wonderful care that they gave to Andrew and Myrtle. A graveside service will be announced at 10:00am Saturday, May 1, 2021 at Sylvan Lawn Cemetery in Greene. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Greene Fire Department 81 N. Canal Street Greene, NY 13778 and condolences may be sent to the family at www.rootfh.com.
