Amanda Sue Margaret Romano of Greene

Amanda Romano, 33, passed away peacefully at her mother’s home surrounded by her family after courageously fighting a long battle with Leukemia. She was predeceased by her paternal grandfather, Richard Romano. Amanda was born in Johnson City the daughter of Richard Romano, Gilaine Romano (McLain) and stepfather, Timothy Shaffer. Also surviving is her beloved daughter, Natalie Romano; fiancé, Timothy Conpropst and his mother, Bev Barker and his son, Timmy; brother, Travis Romano and his wife, Angela; maternal grandmother, Margaret (Peggy) Gorman; maternal grandfather, George McLain; paternal grandmother, Sharon Rose; aunts and uncles, Gordy and Patty Lindow, Paul and Shari Dickinson, Robert Mclain, Andy Mclain, David Romano and several other aunts, uncles and cousins that she loved greatly as well as her best friend Emily. She was formerly employed with Broome Tioga BOCES as a special education teacher’s aide. Amanda was an avid fisherman with her fiancé always by her side. She played clarinet and volleyball throughout high school leading up to her graduation from Dryden Central School. She also had a passion for concerts and most of all her family. She had special love for animals and was fond of her cat Matty and dog Melvin. Amanda was loved by many and will truly be missed by all. A memorial service will be held 1:00pm Wednesday, August 4, 2021 at Immaculate Conception Church 1180 NY-206 Greene, NY 13778 followed immediately by a Celebration of Amanda's life in the church social hall.
