William J. Opeka

William J.  Opeka, 73, of Greene, passed away on Friday, July 20, 2018 after a short illness with his wife of 39 years by his side. He was predeceased by his parents, William and Erma Opeka and by his brother, Joseph Opeka. He is survived by his wife Cathleen Opeka; 2 daughters and a son-in-law, April Scutt, Cindi and Mack Grenet;  son and daughter-in-law, Breck and Chevon Opeka; step son, Matthew Wood; grandchildren and great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Penny Rovente and Sally Opeka;  several nieces and nephews. William retired from the United States Air Force after 20 years of service. He enjoyed camping with his family and grandchildren. Private services are under direction of Root Funeral Home, 23 North Chenango Street, Greene, New York 13778 and condolences may be sent to the family at www.rootfh.com.
