Walter R. (Ike) Warner, 86, of Chenango Forks passed away at home surrounded by his children on Monday, February 19, 2018. He was predeceased by his wife, Betsy A. Warner; parents, Albert and Mabel Warner and by several brothers and sisters. He is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Dolly and James Fox; 4 sons and daughters-in-law, Walt and Judy Warner, Rick and Sue Warner, Chris and Lisa Warner, Todd and Eileen Warner; 7 grandchildren, Nathan, Brodric (Stacey), Courtney, Ryan (Rachelle), Dylan, Kylee and Scott; 2 great grandchildren, Nathan Jr. and Ashton; 2 sisters, Gladys Hamilton and Dawn Dalton; many nieces and nephews. Walt was a proud retiree of the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (Flood Control). He coached Little League and Babe Ruth baseball and softball for many years. He was an avid hunter, loved to fish and instilled the love of hunting and all outdoors in his sons from a young age. Walt was an avid New York Yankee and UConn women's basketball fan. He was a member of American Legion Post #1645. He lived for his children and grandchildren. A funeral mass will be offered 10:00 a.m. Friday 2/23/18 at Saint Paul's Church, 282 Chenango Street, Binghamton, New York 13901. Burial with military honors will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, East Hill Rd, Castle Creek. Friends of the family may call Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the time service at the church. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Lourdes Hospice, 4102 Old Vestal Road, Vestal, New York 13850.
