Walter H. Barrett

Walter H. Barrett, 81, of Chenango Forks, passed away peacefully on November 2, 2018 at his home. He is pre-deceased by his parents, Walter and Winnie Barrett; first wife, Barbara Barrett; second wife, Wanetta Barrett and a son, Kevin Barrett. Walter is survived by his children, Jim and Cindy Barrett, Chris Barrett with Lisa Haskins, Bridgett Barrett and Andrew Gardner and Elizabeth Barrett with Charles Johnson; 13 grandchildren; sister, Lois Yurko; brother, Johnnie Barrett; along with several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Walt was a plant manager for I.B.M. through retirement, in that time he was the first employee of the company to manage multiple departments at once. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, and long business drives especially with his friend Barry Stevens. He was always faithful to his wife and children and always put them first. A funeral service will be held at 12:00pm on Thursday November 8, 2018 at the Harpursville Baptist Church, 41 Cumber Road, Harpursville, New York 13787. Friends of the family may call from 10:00am until the time of the service at the church. Burial will follow in St. Lawrence Cemetery 197 McHughs Hill Road Great Bend Pennsylvania 18821.
