Valerie Kellogg Obituary

Valerie S. (Palmiter) Kellogg, born September 28th, 1945, passed away on July 2nd, 2018, after a long and courageous battle with Myelodisplasia/AML.  She was predeceased by her father, Robert A. Palmiter, as well as her step-father, Robert Clark; brother, Brian Palmiter and sister, Valora Stracuzzi. She is survived by her mother, Sheila M. Clark; son, Terry Kellogg (Lynn Kaufman & daughter Janel); grand-daughter, Olivia (Logan) Bucy and her great-grandson Sebastian Bucy.  She also leaves behind three sisters, Heather (Jack) Scherer, Stephanie (Stephen) Johnson and Vivian (James) Driscoll and one brother, Ian (Jean) Palmiter.  In addition to her cousins, nieces and nephews, Valerie held a special place in her heart for Valora and Francis Gardner, who, along with their children and grand-children, helped her in many ways during her life. Valerie was born in Cambridge England and came to the United States as an infant.  She spent the majority of her career as a Bookkeeper at B&B Ready-Mix.  Despite her nearly 30-year illness, she continued to touch the lives of many with her kindness, compassion and caring ways.  One of her most prized possessions was her 1969 Corvette Stingray. A special thank you to Dr. Martin Masarech, who helped treat Valerie during her long illness and helped to keep her with us for many years longer than expected. At Valerie’s request, there will be no calling hours or formal funeral service.  Donations in her memory, may be made to the Greene Emergency Squad, 30 Birdsall Street, Greene New York 13778.  Burial will be in the Chapel Cemetery at the corner of Wylie-Horton & Cueball Roads, Coventry, NY. Arrangements are entrusted to Root Funeral Home 23 N. Chenango Street, Greene New York 13778 and condolences may be sent to the family at www.rootfh.com.
