Lillian VanCise

Lillian VanCise,89 of Greene, passed away on March 15, 2018 after a short period of declining health at Norwich Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. Lillian was born daughter of the late Leroy and Mercy Boardman. She was also predeceased by her husbands, Raymond Funnell  in 1977 and Stanley VanCise in 1999; 2 brothers and 2 sisters. Lillian grew up in Greene and graduated  from Greene Central School in 1946. She married Raymond Funnell and together they raised their 4 sons. In 1980 she married Stanley VanCise and moved to the Painted Post area until his passing  She then returned to Greene to live near her two 2 youngest sons. Lillian is survived by 4 sons, Robert and Marianne, Michael, Larry and Susanne, Jeffrey and Katherine; stepson, Walter VanCise; 11 grandchildren and 8 grandchildren; sister, Alice Rice and many nieces and nephews.  Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. Monday at Root Funeral Home 23 North Chenango Street Greene, New York 13778.  Friends of the family may call Monday, 1:00pm until the time of service at Root Funeral Home.  Burial will be in Sylvan Lawn Cemetery, Greene in the spring. Memorial contributions may be made to the Greene Fire Department or Greene Emergency Squad for whom she had great appreciation and respect.
