Larry C. Funnell

Larry C. Funnell, 65, of Greene, went to be with the Lord on Monday, December 31, 2018 at home with family. He was predeceased by his parents, Raymond Funnell Jr and Lillian Funnell/ VanCise and by several aunts and uncles. Larry is survived by his wife, Susanne Funnell; daughter and son-in-law, Stephanie  and Jeremy Scott; son and daughter-in-law, John and Lacey Funnell; grandchildren, Jakob, Anna-lisse and Lilly Funnell, Brandyn and McKenzie Scott; 3 brothers and 2 sisters-in-law, Robert and Marianne Funnell, Michael Funnell, Jeffrey and Kate Funnell; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Larry graduated from Greene Central School class of 1971 and two years later from SUNY Cobleskill. Larry was a member of Greene Fire Department and Emergency Squad. He received the Golden Ax Award for 40 years of service from Greene Fire Department. He retired from New York State Veterans’ Home after many years of service. Prior to that, he was employed by Universal Instruments, Greene Central School and the Raymond Corporation. A memorial service will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday at Root Funeral Home 23 North Chenango Street, Greene, NY 13778. The Greene Fire Department will conduct a service 10:30a.m. Saturday. Friends of the family may call Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at Root Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the memorial contributions may be made to  Greene Fire Department or to Greene Emergency Squad. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.rootfh.com.
