Cora Anderson

Cora Anderson, 99, of Greene went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, August 23, 2018. She was predeceased by her sister, Freda Anderson; brothers and sisters-in-law, Elmer and Alice Anderson, Harry Anderson, Harold and Alma Anderson, Stewart Anderson and nephew, Edward Anderson. Cora is survived by her nephews, John Anderson (Hillcrest), Byron Anderson (Georgia) and nieces, Clara Shearer (Greene) and Linda Fowlston (Greene), as well as several dedicated and helpful neighbors and friends. Cora worked at IBM in Endicott for 37 years. Throughout her life, she was a member of Main Street Baptist Church and Grace Baptist Church in Binghamton. In her later years, Cora attended First Baptist Church in Port Crane. She was a hard-working individual, who achieved a high level of excellence in all that she did. Her hobbies included: gardening, landscaping, baking, cooking and sewing. The family wishes to thank the staff at Brookdale Vestal East Assisted Living Facility for the dedicated care Cora received there during the final 8 years of her life on earth. A funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, August 28 at Root Funeral Home, 23 N. Chenango Street, Greene, New York 13778 with Pastor L.D. Maxson from Central Baptist Church of Binghamton officiating. Burial will follow in Kattelville Cemetery. Calling hours will be from 10:00am until the time of the service at Root Funeral Home.
