Alan K. Ives

Alan K. Ives (Al), 79, of Bainbridge, passed away at his home on September 2, 2019 with his wife, son and faithful friend, Ben at his side. He was born June 19, 1940, son of the late Marvin and Grace (Wade) Ives. Alan was predeceased by a brother, Phillip Ives and two brother-in-law’s, Lynn Harrington and Duane Wakeman. Alan is survived by his wife of 45 years, Dawn (Wakeman) Ives; son and daughter-in-law, Daniel and Jodie Ives; two grandchildren, Garrett Ives and Daria Kozak; brothers and sisters-in-law, David and Katherine Ives, Roger and Nancy Ives; brother-in-law, Douglas (Mary) Wakeman and three sisters-in-law, Deann Harrington, Marguerite Wakeman and Donna Wakeman; also several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Alan was the definition of honest and hard working. He worked as a farmer, woodsman and truck driver. He was self-employed for 60 years doing trucking and excavating. He also worked over 25 years as a feed mill operator and foreman all while raising registered dairy cattle and growing crops at home. Per Alan’s wishes there will be no services. A family graveside service will be held at a future date. Memorial contributions may be made to the Chenango County SPCA, 6160 County Rd. 32 Norwich, NY 13815.
